Dr. Laurin has over 20 years of experience providing evaluations related to memory and cognitive functioning. Meet Dr. Laurin
Dr. Kathleen (Katy) Laurin is a Clinical Psychologist (Ph.D.) who provides Memory/Cognitive Assessments and Psychotherapy Services for adults and older adults in Iowa.
- Iowa Native (Born and raised in NE Iowa)
- Graduate of University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee with PhD in Clinical Psychology
- Internship at Vanderbilt University/VA Medical Center Consortium in Nashville, TN
- Fellowship in Geropsychology at VA Medical Center, Houston
- 20 years experience – Mayo Health System in MN (5 years) and Broadlawns Medical Center in Des Moines (15 years)
- Member of American Psychological Association and Iowa Psychological Association
- My passion for early identification of age-related cognitive change is personal as my father, and several members of his family, had Alzheimer’s Disease and benefitted from early identification and treatment.
- I have lived in the Des Moines area for 15 years with my husband and our three sons. I love outdoor activities, travel, family time, and great food.
